The Best Sheets for Airbnb

Nothing is better than getting into a freshly made bed with clean sheets. Who doesn't love that feeling? It's a feeling worth replicating for your guest as they snuggle down for the night to get a good night's sleep at your Airbnb listing. Get it right, and you will be on track for a 5-star review.

Choosing the best bed sheets for Airbnb is vital to a good night's sleep and should be a top priority on your Airbnb Checklist. The quality of your linen is critical to how rested your guest may feel during their stay. And there's nothing like a bad night's sleep to make the most cheery of characters out of kilter. So to make sure that your guest has the best short stay, here's a few things you can do to help when looking for bedsheets:

Be Materialistic

When choosing your Airbnb bed sheets, the material counts. Natural fibres such as cotton are an excellent choice, so ensure your materials are natural fibre rich or 100% natural. This helps absorb the heat from the body throughout the night to ensure you stay cool and dry. During the summer months, you may opt for a lower thread count of 200-400 TC to allow for extra breathability, but in the winter months, a higher thread count will ensure that extra luxurious feel. And just like a luxury hotel may boast there 800TC bedding, so can you on your Airbnb listing.

Keep It Clean

When opening new sheets, it is always advisable to wash them before putting them on your bed. While in storage, any sheets can gather irritants, so it's time well spent.

Once your sheets are in use, of course, your sheets must be laundered between guests, and a good laundry practice would be to have three sets of bedding for your laundry rotations. One on the bed, one in the wash and one on the shelf; this method should also give you enough time to replace an item should it be damaged and replaced before it is needed. Although if you have an exceptionally high turnover of one-night bookings, you may decide to have another set in rotation or on standby. Panic buying replacements can see a host spending more than they usually would - damages will happen, be prepared.

Should you have longer stays, you may wish to consider offering your guests fresh bedding every 7-10 days. While not a compulsory offering, it does ensure your sheets are looked after and can increase their life span. It is also a gesture that will be received well by your guests, so it is a win-win.

A splash of colour, or not?

Our recommendation would be to stick with white bedding. The fresh look and feel are undeniable and unquestionable, and it perfectly shows off that your linen is clean, which gives comfort to any traveller. By all means, you can add some detailing or texture to your sheets - satin stripes have become associated with quality in hospitality.

However, your Airbnb is not a hotel, and neither must it be. Of course, there are instances where you may not want to provide white bedding, and 'everyone else does' is an excellent reason. Being an Airbnb Host is as much about your expression as anything else - which may be why your Airbnb Guest chooses your accommodation in the first place.
